Maciej Gawroński is a Polish attorney-at-law and best-selling author specialising in new technologies, dispute resolution, and regulations. He has advised on thousands of IT, cloud computing, personal data, cybersecurity, e-commerce, and artificial intelligence projects. He has been the lead lawyer on the largest IT project in the financial sector in Central Europe from 2000 to 2013 and again from 2024.
Maciej has represented clients in investment, construction, technology, patent, and copyright disputes worth billions of dollars before Polish common courts and the Polish Supreme Court, arbitration courts and international arbitration tribunals, including investment arbitrations. He serves as an arbitrator of the Arbitration Court at the Polish Chamber of Commerce.

As an expert of the European Commission on Cloud Computing Contracts and a Working Party Article 29 expert on data transfers (2014), Maciej contributed to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), specifically in Articles 20, 28.9, and 82.1 (data portability, liability of processors, electronic form of data processing agreements).
He is a supporting expert at the European Data Protection Board, a Scientific Council Member of the Institute of Data Protection Law at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw.
Maciej is a Polish attorney-at-law since 2000. In 2018 he passed the Certified International Privacy Professional-Europe exam (97/100) of the International Association of Privacy Professionals In 2012 he participated in the Bird & Bird Partner Development Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, UK In 1999 he completed a three month course of international commerce in France, Université de Tours, Centre de Droit du Commerce International, DESS Commerce Extérieur. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagielloninan University in Kraków in 1997 defending his thesis on the EU company law.
