Ireneusz (Irek) Piecuch is an attorney-at-law with almost 30 years of experience. Irek’s expertise include cloud computing, cybersecurity, information technology, intellectual property, outsourcing but also corporate law.
Irek started his carrer in a Polish independent law firm Łaszczuk & Partners, then until 2006 he worked for IBM, where he served as general counsel to IBM Poland, lCEE Legal Team Leader based in Vienna, COO of IBM Poland.
2006-2009 Irek worked for Telekomunikacja Polska Group (now Orange Poland), where he started as executive director responsible for legal, regulations, administration, security and wholesale, then becoming Member of the Board resposible for business development and strategy.
2010-2013 and 2016-2018 Irek was a partner of CMS McKenna Nabaro Olswang – one of the largest global law firms, where he led CEE Technology Media and Telecommunications practice and co-headed Global Telecom Practice.
2013-2015 Irek served as a Vice President of Poczta Polska S.A. (Polish Mail) responsible for IT, international and strategy.
Irek’s carrer path allows him to build not only on legal knowledge but also on his experience as domestic and international head of legal, external adviser, and C level executive. His advised at largest technology and telecommunication projects in Poland, Central Europe and Middle East, including IT implementations, IT integration, outsourcing, mobile networks integration and other. Irek assisted in corporate restructuring processes, created and managed compliance processes.
2016-2017 Irek served as President of the Polish Information and Communication Chamber (Polska Izba Informatyki i Telekomunikacji), now acting as advisor to the current President of the Chamber. Irek acts also as advisor and expert of Pracodawcy RP – largest Polish enterpreneurs organisation. He is also a Member of the International Consultancy Counsil of the Law Faculty of the Kozminski University in Warsaw.
Irek actively participates in a public discussion of technology related topics, publishing his views in leading Polish traditional and electronic press such as Rzeczpospolita Daily, dyskusja.biz, cyberdefence24.pl, telko.in, itwiz.pl.
