In the face of technological progress, people are often reduced to the status of objects. #GDPR is designed to counteract this. That’s why, on behalf of Lukasz Olejnik, PhD,
GP Partners has filed with Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych (Polish Personal Data Protection Office) a complaint against OpenAI.
The case is described by Natasha Lomas in TechCrunch and by Cecily Mauran in Mashable.
We are convinced that it is possible to reconcile the rights of data subjects, with the development of artificial inteligence products like Chat GPT.
If billions are being spent on development of #AI technologies and products, some of these funds can be allocated for GDPR compliance modules. And if OpenAI had doubts about reconciling its service with data protection principles, they should have used Article 36 of the GDPR – Prior consultation with data protection authorities.
