The amendments will deal with forced restructuring of banks, supervision of the financial market and reform in the Bank Guarantee Fund. The legislation will have the force of law the night after it is announced in the Official Gazette.

“This seems to be a good solution introduced as part of the EU resolution procedure, because if there is a willingness to take over a bank in a bad financial situation, but does not want so much debt, the BFG, in order to prevent bankruptcy, can reduce the financial hole and thus encourage the takeover. (…)”
