Business in the age of quatantanny. Penalties for resuming business despite bans.

Impatience and the need to fight to keep the business is prompting an increasing number of entrepreneurs to open their businesses despite the bans. The most common participants in the “open up” campaign are owners of restaurants, hotels, guesthouses or gyms. Return to operation has its consequences in the form of sanitary and police inspections.
There are also the first fines and decisions to stop operations. The owners of one of the bars in Skierniewice received a fine of 30 thousand zlotys
during the first inspection.

Legal counsel Maciej Gawronski has no doubt that the fines imposed for violating the bans are illegal.

– This is because it is unlawful to impose a ban on business in a form imposed by the Polish government,” believes attorney Gawronski.
